Picked up a couple of quick caches on the walk from the car park to the venue, it had to be done!<\/p>\n<p>There were quite a few people there, of which we knew none. However, we got on well with everyone we actually met and had a good time.<\/p>\n<p>I can\u2019t remember the names or nicknames of most of the people we actually met and spoke to I\u2019m afraid, partly because some of them had user names with numbers, partly because I had not heard of a lot of them before but mainly because I\u2019ve got a rubbish memory anyway. The notable people from my point of view were people whose caches I had found so far and they included the notorious \u201cStrangler\u201d and Delta68.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the visit I also realised that the Grounspeak weekly newsletter was not in fact a waste of time as far as we British go after all, which is what I had so far assumed. This assumption was due to the fact that after quickly perusing the very first one I had received, rather than actually reading any of it, I had quickly surmised that it was squarely aimed at the American readership. Anyway, I now know different and as a result we shall be attending (for the Saturday only) Piratemania 2010 and hopefully several more events this year as well.<\/p>\n<p>In future I will try to pay more attention!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Attended the \u201cBrummie Meet 6\u201d at Bennets Bar in Birmingham city centre last night.
