Just back from holiday

Just got back from a week in Poole, Dorset and what a glorious week it was weather wise and how often do you get to say that in this country?

With four grown up lads and their girlfriends, it was the first time we have been away as a whole family for a few years and we had a great time.

I tried to introduce the “kids” to the art of geocaching, but they were suitably unimpressed I’m afraid. They reckon it’s for old people – I think they just mean me!

I showed them The “Clare and David” Geocoin I had recently retrieved from “Dirt Track” cache which commemorates their wedding in April of this year hoping that would prove otherwise to their tiny minds but alas, they were having none of it. Oh well, their loss I say.

Found nine caches while we were down there, a couple of which were very unusual, namely “The Viewpoint” which is a great hide and “Catch The Tube” which is the biggest cache I have seen so far. We would have spent more time caching and therefore found lots more I’m sure, if “the kids” had been up for it but we were forced to limit our endeavours and confine most of our activities to the beach. Could be worse I suppose – it’s a hard life!
